Is it button: drivers who won the world championship at first year in their new constructor/ team, if you see what im saying

  • Profile picture of paulgilb paulgilb said 1 year, 4 months ago:

That is not correct – I don’t believe either Mansell or Schumacher ever did that, if I have understood you correctly.

    Yes you understood.

What is the connection between these numbers: 13, 22, 45, 99?

Since this will likely be a tricky one, Ill give you a hint to start with: they are all related to a former driver and something he did outside Formula 1.

They are also not in sequence. They all mean something, but they do not affect one another.

So we’re not waiting for @paulgilb‘s answer, then?

    That wasn’t answered?

Sorry. I saw Master firelee’s post “Yes you understood” and took it to mean the last question had been answered.

A hint for my one: Michael Schumacher’s appearance in the list is due to something that occurred in 2002.

@PaulGilb Is the next one Damon Hill?
For getting race wins under team orders?

    Hill in Spa ’98.

    Not correct, I’m afraid!

Another clue – Keke Rosberg’s appearance is due to something that occurred in 1982, but Mansell’s appearance is not due to anything that happened in 1992.

Keke Rosberg won the Switzerland Grand Prix in 1982, which actually took place in France. Michael Schumacher won the San Marino Grand Prix in 2002, which actually took place in Italy. I haven’t worked out what the full connection could be, but is that along the right lines?

  • Profile picture of matt90 matt90 said 1 year, 4 months ago:

I was thinking something similar, but the trouble is that the San Marino GP was like that for ages, so why 2002 and Schumacher?

  • Profile picture of matt90 matt90 said 1 year, 4 months ago:

How out of the box is this answer? Because I’m finding myself looking at things like having as many 5th places as retirements.

All 3 drivers came of worse in close finishes?

    Schumacher at USA 2002
    Rosberg at Switzerland 1982
    Mansell at Jerez 1986

Francois Cevert has to be the unluckiest, 0.01 of a second at Monza

  • Profile picture of paulgilb paulgilb said 1 year, 4 months ago:

craig-o: Almost correct, except that Cevert never came within 0.01s of victory at Monza…
