    @craig-o, I think you’ve hit the nail on the head there, but you haven’t said the answer. The four closest finishes in F1 are, in reverse order:

    de Angelis beats Rosberg by 0.050s at 1982 Austrian Grand Prix
    Senna beats Mansell by 0.014s at 1986 Spanish Grand Prix
    Barrichello beats Schumacher by 0.011s at 1992 US Grand Prix
    Gethin beats Peterson by 0.010s at 1971 Italian Grand Prix

    So the answer must be Ronnie Peterson. Francois Cevert finished third in that race, just a further 0.080s behind Peterson.

    Ah, genius. Thank God that one’s apparently over lol.

    @Estesark So did that mean I got it right? Haha

  • Profile picture of craig-o craig-o said 1 year, 4 months ago:

    Ah, wait, I didn’t. My error!

    Well, that was a bit of an anti-climax. Since Estesark hasn’t put forth another question, may I suggest the next one? It’s a good one.

    Complete the sequence: Scheckter – Verstappen – Lehto – ???

    I wanted to guess something about the Letter J, but I really cannot find anything of particular note that would link these 3 and another single person.

    Is it Herbert?

    @prisoner-monkeys, I was just waiting for confirmation of the correct answer. But I don’t mind you taking my turn.

    Is it something to do with drivers having run ins with the law?

    Alex Yoong?
    Drivers who were rested or stood down by their team but later returned (Scheckter after the famous Silverstone pile-up)

    I’m not going to say anything until people start making suggestions. No more “is it this?” or “is it that?” trying to get an idea of wher eyou should be looking – you’re going to have to complete the sequence by giving me a fourth name if you want some kind of response from me.

    I say Adrian Sutil due to some trouble with the law. The question has only surnames, so Scheckter might refer to Tomas and not Jody.

  • Profile picture of Prisoner Monkeys Prisoner Monkeys said 1 year, 4 months ago:

    No, it’s not Sutil.

    @Prisoner Monkeys

    Kamui Kobayashi

    Alphabetical order of the first name of the drivers.

  • Profile picture of Prisoner Monkeys Prisoner Monkeys said 1 year, 4 months ago:

    Nope. Sorry, but that’s not even close – it’s not the names of the drivers in alphabetical order.

    @Prisoner Monkeys

    Lewis Hamilton

    Run-ins with the law while their F1 career was ongoing.
