Football, massive Arsenal fan, lived in Holloway all my life, so it was always going to be that way. My dad livs in the old Highbury stadium flats, I go to as many matches at Ashburton Grove as I can, a few friends have season tickets, as does my girlfriend so any chance I get.

Big lover of Cricket, my Dad was nearly a professional cricker, of significant talent, however his back caved in before he really got a chance to take it to the next level, so I got a good education on the joys of the sport.

Watch a bit of tennis but Football F1 and Cricket take up too much time already.

Well, the three sports I listed are the ones I do. The one I follow is football, and I support A.C. Milan, the most succesful club.

Hah Scribe I see you used the name Ashburton Grove for the Arsenal’s stadium, nice!

Sorry Fixy, whilst technically Milan has the equal most Fifa and Uefa trinkets, your about to experiance some serious football fan pedantry, Boca Juniors have also won that many titles.

The things you might say actually count in the grand scheme of things are Domestic League, European Cup.
    3rd and 2nd retrospectivley.
    Then domestic cup, 7th.

Regardless, Milan are a spectacularly successfull team. THis particular Milan team http://www.zonalmarking.net/2010/01/22/teams-of-the-decade-14-milan-2002-07/ are one of my favourites of all time, the players, the style, an the way they played in Europe was incredible. But make a claim like that an pedants ire you will raise.

Incidentally, http://www.zonalmarking.net/2010/02/12/teams-of-the-decade-9-arsenal-2001-04/ WHAT A TEAM. The Invincibles, it’s evolution nearly won the Big Cup. Ah well, Mad Jens went Mad and got himself sent of in the final.

An yeah, lol Ned, whats an Emirates? It’s payments on the stadium debt, not a name of a football arena. Part of the reason, Arsenal lost it’s voice a fair bit when we got to the Grove has to do with the initially high coporate nature of the place, they’ve improved it a bit recently, an all though it can still be very flat, we’ve had some rocking atmoshpere’s recently. NB, travelling Libarians do us proud, out shout most, I’ve been to three away games, an it was awesome. Also, loads of new people in the stadium, an it’s massiveness freaked them and us out. It’ll warm up.

That Champions League final was the worst one I’ve personally ever seen, it was shaping up brilliantly and then it got ruined. Even more disappointing than United’s capitulation to Barcelona in 2009.

I remember I started this kind of thread in the old forum. Anyway, the only other sport (or sports entertainment) I follow is WWE wrestling, though I’m watching it less and less as time goes on. Any other sport I watch is normally hosting their big event(s) when I watch it. So I watch the FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champion’s League, Six Nations, Rugby Union World Cup, Tennis Grand Slams, Snooker World Championship, Cricket World Twenty20, Olympics etc. So I watch a fair bit of sport aside from Formula One.

Actually your two exceptions work for me, Ned: I used to skate in my younger wannabe skater-punk days (which for me, ahem, means the late 80s) and cycling is pretty much the only sport I’ve ever considered in any way as “my own”. I love it; there’s just something about the mix of physical challenge, speed and zen-like concentration I like – and maybe even this year I’ll actually spend money and buy my first ever quality bike. The only team sport I was ever any good at was hand-ball – how nerdy can you get? I was a very awkward teenager. Anyhoo, as for sports on TV I’ve always been attracted to speed – starting with hockey, downhill skiing and cycling (for reasons above). But then I have this inexplicable taste for watching excruciatingly slow stuff like cross-country skiing and snooker (pool/snooker being another ‘sport’ I enjoy). Oh yeah, and I’m pretty handy with a frisbee!

Rugby (follow the 6 nations, Tri-Nations, Super 15, Currie Cup). Big fan of the Springboks (having grown up in SA and the Bulls.

    Cricket, again supporting SA.

I watch a lot of Football, but coverage of games in Scotland (where I was born) isn’t greart, but being a dedicated Glasgow Rangers man I make a point of keeping up with the news! I do watch the english stuff because its all over the telly, and while I support Liverpool, I couldn’t really care if they win or loose! I just want to see good footie being played!

Oh, and I watch lots of golf, and even managed to get to go to the Dubai Desert Classic yesterday, spending my day at the 8th green, 13th tee and the 18th green.

I’ll pretty much watch any sport that is going, except American sports (because they take too long and are full of a whole host of impossible to understand stats) and Tennis.

Maciek- I’m quite keen on cycling myself. It’s one of the only sports I do these days, although saying that I haven’t been for months which shows how lazy I’ve been lately! One of my fav ourite summer memories of the last few years is going out for a ride through the countryside, having a rest at the top of the hill, and then going flying off down the other side of the hill as the sun begins to set. Hmmm I really want to go cycling now… roll on Summer 2011!

All of them! Well, that’s a slight exaggeration…but I’ll watch most sports if they’re on the TV. Even the cross-country skiing shown on Eurosport for 23 hours a day (no matter what is shown on the schedule, they are always broadcasting cross-country skiing).

In terms of sports I really follow, it’s only F1, football (Blackpool), rugby (Edinbugh & Worcester Warriors) and cricket (Lancashire & England). Everything else I’ll watch with interest but won’t go out of my way to watch.

You said not wheels but I’m going to cheat as I do enjoy watching pro cycling, like the Tour De France, Giro d’Italia and Tour of Spain.

My second love is Snooker. My dad has a quarter sized table which I’ve practised on since I was 8, and the one time I went to a club and played on a full sized one I was pretty good. I love playing it, and I love watching it.

Also have spurts of interest in cricket, used to play for my village team but I had two problems: I can’t throw and I used to have two badly ingrown toenails, so a simple yorker or a clumsy stumble would put me out of the game. In the end I only actually played twice for them, once I didn’t get to bat and spent most of my time in the field down at 3rd man, and the other time was a for school team created for a match gainst the teachers. Used to bowl fairly decent leg spin, and I still enjoy a couple of hours in the nets.

Other than that I wouldn’t call myself a sports fan at all. I watch Wimbledon, Darts and the Olympics when they’re on but everything else is just a bit rubbish.
