I still have the whole race on tape (in those days I used to watch the race, record it later and then watch it over and over after school) but it never made it back to my VCR once I finished recording it.

I’d actually like to watch the 2005 Indianapolis GP again. Obviously it was an awful moment in the history of F1, but I remeber the madness when the 14 cars pulled into the pits. It was all very exciting actually.

My only wish from that race is that Barrichello and Schumacher had of collided (and they so nearly did!), taking both out and handing the race to Monteiro, with Karthikeyan and Albers on the podium alongside him. Now that would have been something!

I have the entire 2005 season ready to watch and I’m looking forward to Indy ’05 too. Everyone knew what was going to happen but it was ineresting and unique – I think James Allen once said it was one of his favourite races to commentate on for that reason. I remember hearing DC on the team radio saying that he really wants to race whatever the situation and Monteiro soaking up the podium was great!
