Victor- you mean the black and gold livery of the 70′s/ 80′s? Yes, that would be very nice, but they were John Player Special colours, and I doubt that the new Lotus would use them. They’ll probably adopt a very similar livery to the current Lotus, as they have run in Indy Car’s with Takuma Sato:

Actually I prefer the current Lotus livery than some weird apeing of the JPS specials. I wonder if Group Lotus know no one likes them for what there doing right now and everyone likes the current Lotus racing team.

I wonder how much it’ll effect Fernandes team to loose the Lotus heritage which they’d very sucsefully assumed, there always seemed to be a spirit of doing it in the name of the old team that Group Lotus haven’t got a hope of matching.

I know the black (and gold) livery was JPS’, but nonetheless, I don’t see a reason why it shouldn’t be there. It’s the most fantastic livery the world has ever seen, and as long as a major sponsor won’t require a different livery they should go ahead and use it.

ehhh, best livery ever is subjective. I liked the Bar zipper livery, am i mental, maybe but mental in two toned style.

Joking aside, at least the current team is based in Norfolk. It’s not that I would object to a the team base shifting to Oxfordshire it’s just that using the Lotus name as effectively the name of a paint job that can be slapped on any car doesn’t sit well. Like ogamii says above – you can’t buy heritage.

As a VR fan this is difficult to say but I’d rather the Mike and Tony show continued.
