    Going into the last races of the season I was wondering which of the three past seasons you see as Robserg his best campaign versus Hamilton.

    2014 – 5 wins, 10 podiums, 2 retirements (none his fault), and Abu Dhabi failure.
    2015 – 6 wins, 9 podiums, 2 retirements (none his fault), unusually poor race in Hungary
    2016* – 7 wins, 2 podiums, 1 retirement (crash with Hamilton), poor results in Monaco, Austria and Germany

    2014 – 384 points (-25 double points rule) vs. 317 points
    2015 – 381 points vs. 322 points
    2016* – 250 points vs. 248 points

    Rosberg has won both the 2014 and 2015 Brazilian GP but lost both the USA and Japanese races. In Dubai both have one win. Singapore will be the next where both haven’t won yet in their Mercedes car. Then there is Mexico where Rosberg won last year, with in between also Malaysia where Hamilton is the stronger of the two I reckon.

    At round 14;
    In 2014 Rosberg was trailing Hamilton (241 to 238)
    In 2015 Rosberg was trailing Hamilton (277 to 229)
    In 2016* Rosberg is trailing Hamilton (250 to 248)

    *2016 season still going on.

    Easily 2016, he’s been good so far this year. In fact possibly 2013 as he won more races than Hamilton that year

    I wanted to add 2013 too but he only won the British GP after both Hamilton and Vettel got their puncture and alternator issue.

    The 2016 season (so far) has been Rosberg’s strongest of the hybrid era. In 2014 he was generally better than Hamilton in qualifying but he wasn’t quite as strong in the races, in 2015 he wasn’t really close to Hamilton until it was too late, this year he has been excellent apart from a few hiccups in the mid season. It would not surprise me if he finally won the championship this year and IMO he would thoroughly deserve it. Having said that, Hamilton is still the favourite.

    He has been diving very well, but I feel like part of this improvement was exaggerated by Hamilton’s misfortune. I still would like to see him win a championship, or at least go down fighting.
