    Nico Hulkenberg has no-one to blame for his failure to secure a seat for 2010 but Nico Hulkenberg.

    I’m sorry. I always thought it was a drivers job to, you know, race. Not to get sponsors. Hulkenberg didn’t have the greatest rookie season of all time but his failure to retain his seat was solely because of his lack of financial clout and not because of his driving ability. I don’t think there was anything he could do about it. He’s not fortunate enough to be like Petrov or Maldonado and bring with him significant sponsorship purely because of his nationality. If you took financial matters out of the equation, on 2010 form Hulkenberg was far more deserving of a 2011 race seat than Petrov ever was. To say Nico has no-one to blame but himself is just plain untrue. He was a victim of an unfortunate series of circumstances because Williams just plain need the money.

    MG, his job is to race in the best seat available. And to do whatever is needed to get that seat – even if it means having to find sponsors.

    In any case, if he ends up driving for Force India next year, it will be of case of 2 wrongs (not finding sponsorship money for Williams and taking a test seat instead) making a right for the Hulk.
