    1) Sauber. Purley based on last season and err.. its HRT after all.
    2) Let Nando win, good drivers always have a chance to win races, and id probably follow what PM said.
    3) Everyone goes into F1 to win, if it takes 5 years then it takes 5 years but i want that WCC!!!

    2) I wouldn’t let Nandos win. Pulling over in the style PM suggested would humiliate Ferrari, humiliate Alonso.. Shame the fans of those two. Not pulling over would keep it an internal matter I’d also back it up with verbose rhetoric such as ‘Ferrari didn’t give me a fast car to go slower’ and ‘it’s in every Ferrari fans blood to win at all costs, this is the spirit of the racer’, stuff that plays to the passion of the most passionate fans in f1.

Irvine, Rubens and Massa, all seemed to be owned by Ferrari, and many fans don’t respect them for that. Fair enough, they agreed to it, but Brazil felt shame and anger that their Hero gave way. It doesn’t wash with me. I don’t worship Ferrari as the god of f1.

Racing is not about winning races, it’s about winning championships. However, I’m not a Ferrari fan, and would only want to race with them after I had a WDC.

If I was in. McLaren and Button or Hamilton was fighting for the WDC and I was out of the running, I’d let them by. It’s the sensible thing to do. People would know that was my decision, and respect that. They wouldn’t feel I was pwned.

In response to Andy. I don’t think I could run from 10th to pole faster than a hungry Lion. The lions obviously gone for the fattest driver, so really between to two of us.. It’s his own fault for being unhealthier than me. Who let Nigel Mansell in F1 again anyway!

PM, you should be a Formula 1 driver, would love to see that happen!
    Hare, well observed lol.

    @Red Andy’s Scenario

I would save him from the F1 driver hungry beast, I can’t think of anything worst then winning by default. However, during the next season, I would use a special livery that the team has agreed to because of my heroic acts that is of some type of airbrushed art of myself holding a sword up to an overly exaggerated viscous lion the 8 times the size of me, clearly protecting my rival, and have the nick name, Beast Slayer. A little embarrassing for my rival yes, but the more credibility I would attain.

Your Team mate has beaten you since the day you joined the team last season and the boss has a quiet word with you that if you didn’t beat him on the track your career will be over. Your team mate is your best mate and you’ve been through go karting and picking up the ladies together, however he is naturally competitive and he won’t let you beat him if you explained your situation. What do you do?

It would probably cost me a contract with Ferrari, but if they wanted me to move over so Alonso could have a World Championship, I wouldn’t want to be driving for them any longer. In fact, I probably wouldn’t sign with Ferrari in the first place. If they showed interest in me, I’d make a big fuss over it all whilst working a second deal very discreetly. Then, just when Ferrari think they have got me – and hopefully when most of the seats have been taken – I would very publicly announce that I would never, ever drive for Ferrari and sign the second deal. Hopefully this will force Ferrari to take on a Heikki Kovalainen circa 2008: the best driver available at the time, but certainly not the best driver on the grid. Thus, I have successfully ruined Ferrari’s WCC chances for that year.

@PM You sound like you would have been good mates with Guy Fawkes.. :) You’re a very subversive racing driver.

curiously perhaps, Guy Fawkes died age 35.. a year older than Senna. Meaningless information but I felt compelled..? :)

    And they were both Catholic!

Prof, simply go out and beat him!

I was think more along the lines of getting him drunk, eg having a good time the night before the race of which he wouldn’t suspect you were sabotaging his ability. A hangover would be brutal in an F1 car displaying to your boss that you may not have the same pace but your consistent and responsible and deserve the seat.
Other alternatives could involve locking him in the toilet…

    1) I guess I’d consider test-driving for Mercedes, but in the end I’d have thought that I’d go for Sauber. Being the second driver wouldn’t bother me- partly because it would be my first drive, and partly because I wouldn’t be in a Championship-winning car- so it wouldn’t matter.

    2) If the team asked me to move over (which being Ferrari, of course they would), I would. Driving for a team, you’re just an employee- just like engineers, strategists and mechanics- so you do as you’re told. I wouldn’t necessarily agree with team orders, but that’s irrelevant. If no team orders were issued, then I wouldn’t move over- it would be up to Alonso to overtake me.

    3) Slow and steady, but I’d do it properly. There’s no point in doing a half-arsed job, because all you’re going to do then is lose money and make a joke of yourself- rather like HRT is.

honestly, I would be a fan of hrt IF they had sharkfins everywhere, two nose cones and asymmetrical driver seating, and still came last. It’s those cars that push F1 forward because then more experienced teams adapt those stupid ideas and make them more sensible.

A personal favourite of mine is the Tyrell X wings in ’97 but I think that got banned because of aesthetics.. And later on that concept developed into the Devil Horns on the Mclarens.

    1. Sauber. Best to go with a race seat at an experienced midfield team.
    2. I’d let Fernando win. Gilles let Jody win, DC moved out of the way of Mika in Aus 1998, Kimi moved out of Massa’s way near the end of 2008 (if I remember right), Massa did likewise in Brazil 2007 (disguised as pit stop strategy). It’s part of the sport, and I think the drivers all know that. The team always comes first.
    3. Slow and steady build up is the only one that makes sense.
