F1 Fanatic - F1
I’m not sure if the sporting and technical regulations allow this, but:-
What if a team decide to under fuel a car, giving that car a significant performance advantage. The ‘hare’ car could play a spoiler role. Obviously the under fuelled car is not going to finish but could play a significant part in the outcome of a race.
I think this happened with Eddie Irvine in Japan one year.
Well all teams do under fuel the cars, common knowledge now, that is why they have a fuel saving period.
I think Toleman did this with Derek Warwick at the 1982 British GP, though I think that was more about publicity than ‘spoiling’
