A 17 year old in F1… that really would smash the records.

Are you sure Kubica would remain at Renault, considering he is the best of all the drivers there (if he was fit)?

  • Profile picture of Enigma Enigma said 1 year, 10 months ago:

That’s the part that you find unlikely? :P

You are right, if the 24 were unavailable Kubica would be the one all teams would go after. We’ll see :)

I would think so too. He never seems to be available though, and the fact that he suffered quite an accident might not help him in that aspect. I guess that if he were deemed fit and would return to his full potential then he probably wouldnt mind terms that would keep him from rallying thus considering offers from more competitive teams. At least thats what I would expect, unless the crash didnt bother him.

I think if Hamilton keeps driving like he is and has continued bad luck along with the growing fustration we are seeing we might see a Button Di Resta partnership at Mclaren… not next year… but maybe 2013

I did an article on this on my blog a couple of days ago (click on my username and it’ll take you straight there). Between now and then the rumours of Raikkonen going to Williams have seemed to get stronger and stronger. I sincerely hope he does. I would love to see 2003-spec Raikkonen back in F1. Given his performance today, I would love to see di Resta move up to Mercedes but that won’t happen until at least 2013.

Already done a line up for next year, but I fancy doing another one :P

    Red Bull Racing
    1 – Sebastian Vettel
    2 – Mark Webber

    McLaren Mercedes
    3 – Jenson Button
    4 – Lewis Hamilton

    Ferrari
    5 – Fernando Alonso
    6 – Felipe Massa

    Mercedes GP
    7 – Michael Schumacher
    8 – Nico Rosberg

    Force India
    9 – Adrian Sutil
    10 – Paul di Resta

    Lotus Renault GP
    11 – Vitaly Petrov
    12 – Romain Grosjean

    Sauber Ferrari
    14 – Kamui Kobayashi
    15 – Sergio Perez

    Toro Rosso
    16 – Jaime Alguersuari
    17 – Daniel Ricciardo

    Williams Renault
    18 – Kimi Raikkonen
    19 – Bruno Senna

    Team Lotus
    20 – Heikki Kovalainen
    21 – Jarno Trulli

    HRT
    22 – Pastor Maldonado
    23 – Jean-Eric Vergne

    Marussia Virgin Racing
    24 – Timo Glock
    25 – Robert Wickens

This is a quite realistic line up I think. I could imagine Robert Kubica not being chosen by Renault, despite the fact he’s healed. Therefore, Renault choose Petrov & Grosjean in their line up. Because of that, Senna ends up at Williams, alongside the returning Kimi Raikkonen. Maldonado gets kicked out, and takes his money to a team of his ability, HRT. He partners Vergne, as part of a agreement with Red Bull. Ricciardo finds a full time drive at Toro Rosso, while Buemi is on the sidelines as Red Bull’s test driver. Robert Wickens replaces D’Ambrosio in the 2nd Virgin car.

For what it’s worth his doctor has pronounced him fit to race in 2012; and his manager has said Kubica will 100% be on the grid next year.
Also, I don’t think Button has a contract for next year; nor does Sutil.

  • Profile picture of Deleted User said 1 year, 7 months ago:

    @raymondu999
I know that, but Renault might decide to not choose Kubica. And I know they don’t have contracts yet, but chances are that’s where they’d be. It’s just my opinion, not what will actually happen.

Tommo Maldonado is a shoe-in for the WIlliams drive; I don’t t hunk Senna will even get a look in

  • Profile picture of Deleted User said 1 year, 7 months ago:

I know, but him being replaced is logical. Maldonado is there because he has money. He only has 1 point this season, and overall as been quite bad. Therefore, who can they get, that is possibly better, and bring money? Senna.

Anyway, this is also what I would like to see :)
