Lotus has published this link on their FB page, so…?

Something tells me this is a sponsor deal, not a F1-team contract. The online build-up. Media managing. Video quality.

Even so, this being Kimi, a sponsor contract is still somewhat of a big deal ;)

That explanation makes a lot of sense!

Kimi would be a great spokes- (pun intended) person for Twitter, he can say it all in under 140 characters :D

Alguersuari to Force India? He just started following them on twitter… is a Force Indian leaving to Ferrari after all??? Let’s gossip!

This is a crazy silly season. Now Maldonado is saying that he may not be at Williams next year. Lots of changes still to happen in the midfield. Can you see other teams picking up Maldonado if he loses financial backing?

http://www.whatwillkimidonext.com/ What about this link? What it could be about?

@toiago – Him celebrating his birthday. No, really, check his wikipedia page.
@dot_com – He’s the fastest of the midfield drivers, but he could do with some more performances a la Spain or Singapore. I can see him dropping out of F1 if Chavez actually loses the elections on Sunday though.

I’m intrigured by David Croft’s comments that there might be a few surprises in the driver market before the grid is finalised, and I can’t help but wonder if Lotus is losing patience with Romain Grosjean. Even before today, he’s been involved in a string of incidents early in the race, and while he’s fast, he clearly isn’t learning from his mistakes. He might not have the poor reputation of Pastor Maldonado – who managed his third consecutive clean race and picked up four points for it – but in fourteen races, he’s been involved in eight first-lap incidents this year alone.

Lol, so could Maldonado take over Grosjean’s seat? That would be intriguing, but unlikely.

Lotus would likely take someone from their own stable – but Kevin Korjus is the only one who fits that bill, and I think he needs another season in Formula Renault before he is ready. No, I was thinking of Robin Frijns. He might be young and inexperienced, but he has been the stand-out performer against more experienced, highly-rated and very competitive drivers, many of whom have support from Formula 1 teams that Frijns himself does not.

Ah yes, I recall Boullier saying there would be a Dutch driver in F1 next year. I expected it to be Frijns instead of van der Garde, but not immediately in a top team like Renaultus.

Why not? Grosjean was effectively a rookie when he joined the grid this year.

I think RoGro’s future will be decided in the remaining races, as I think Lotus will want to hold on to him if he can convince them with another solid drive. Would be awesome to see Frijns in F1 though, he’s thoroughly impressed me this year.

…which didn’t really pan out all too well for the team.

I think all rookies should have at least one or two years in a backmarker or lower midfield team, preferably with a more experienced driver as a teammate. They learn the ropes, can show their worth and get a lesson in humility. I would even dare to say that Hamilton’s issues come from never having gone through that process, which is why he felt he needed to take a step backwards to go forward.
