I think they’ve done amazing job – really glad that I signed up for the new season. The actual on track coverage seems to be really – glad that David Croft has finally made the step up to TV as I thought the BBC made a huge mistake with their commentary box line up last year (although they were still infinitely better than
Alan Partridge -er- Jonathan Legard).
Off track I think is the biggest difference – the build up has been brilliant, if anything their access to drivers and team personnel seems even better than the BBC. And the “F1 show”, I think, is pretty awesome. Less patronising than the BBC’s output, which always seemed to be desperate to cater for the ‘casual viewers’. It was great getting an insight into the paddock late into the evening, which we’ve never really had before.
Only downpoint, for me, is the horrendous opening sequence and the awful song. Desperately needs something a bit more pacey.
Did anyone spot Jake Humphrey briefly in the background of one of the cutaways? I have to admit I felt a small pang of guilt.
