I was pro-BBC last year, and would always watch the BBC version live when I had the chance. However, I’ve watched both races on both broadcasts this year (I haven’t seen the pre or post shows from the BBC yet), and I have to say that I prefer Sky. Their commentary seems far more informed. Crofty and Brundle just seem to much more in-tuned and dynamic than the pairing of Ben Edwards and David Coulthard.
I also think that Ted Kravitz is far better than Gary Anderson, and Natalie Pinkham is a good pitlane reporter as well. I have no idea who this new Ted guy is, but he hasn’t impressed me.
I’m quite lucky to be able to get the Sky feed on someone else’s package through Sky Go, and I think I will continue to watch it on Sky when I can, because even though it doesn’t feel quite as ‘homey’ as the experience that Jake Humphrey gave, with the duo of Coulthard and Jordan beside him. However, I have got used to it on Sky now, and although Simon Lazenby isn’t as good as Jake Humphrey, the race commentary more than makes up for it.
As for Suzi Perry…I’m not entirely sure on her. I haven’t seen much of her, but she hasn’t been that good so far either, and her and Coulthard don’t seem to have a good bond. Not to mention I have no idea where EJ is. It’s not necessarily a bad thing that he’s gone, but I think having a trio definitely is the way to go for presenting.
