@tflb1 I think Brundle may well be displeased by the loss of F1 to FTA viewers, and still decided to move, because I think he was even more disgusted by the way the BBC handled the whole affair, treated the staff who work on the award winning coverage (back and front of the camera), and their insistence on treating all viewers like morons who don’t know what KERS is and are watching for the first time.
In some ways, I think he’s right. There are plenty of reasons for viewers to refuse to switch to Sky, and there are plenty of reasons why other countries may be jealous of the BBC’s quality of coverage, but there are certainly ways to improve. If you look at their “extensive” Pirelli Tyre analysis pieces, much of it boiled down to “here’s how many tyres they can use” and “wet tyres are slower in the dry because they’re different”. Excellent if you’re suffering from senile dementia, perhaps, but nothing along the lines of what @ScarbsF1 provides.
