Basically, see if any song lyrics can be related to any F1 people.#
I’ll start.
Now, this is by Nicole Scherzigner, and my relation is to Alonso, so something’s gone wrong there. It relates to Alonso’s time at McLaren, and whether he’ll ever go back to the dark side.
Nicole Scherzinger – Don’t hold your breath
You can’t touch me now there’s no feeling left
If you think I’m coming back don’t hold your breath
What you did to me boy I can’t forget
If you think I’m coming back don’t hold your breath

Massa’s relationship with Ferrari- “I may not always love you but long as there are stars above you you need never to doubt it. I’ll make you so sure about it. God only knows what I’d be without you.” Beach Boys-God only knows
Willie Nelson’s ‘Are you sure?’ pretty much fits with anybody who is having a rough time in F1.

Also the entirety of Billy Joel’s ‘She’s Always a Woman’ perfectly sums up Ferrari.

I suppose that BMW engineer who got electrocuted by KERS back in 2009 could’ve made a cameo in the video for the excellent Danger! High Voltage

22nd July 2011, 11:59 at 11:59 am #174969GirtsParticipantI always remember Felipe Massa when I hear Alejandro by Lady Gaga:
I’m not your babe, I’m not your babe, Fernando…
And then the winning song of Eurovision 2010 (The Satellite by Lena) always reminds me of F1 because it contains the following text:
Where you go, I follow
You set the pace we take it fast or slow
I follow in your wake
Probably a good description of Alonso’s relationship with Petrov after Abu Dhabi 2010 and Australia 2011…

Oh well, I’m the type of guy who will never settle down
Where struggling teams are rife, you know that I’m around
I race ’em and I spin ’em ’cause to me they’re all the same
I pay ’em and I drive ’em they don’t even know my name
They call me the wanderer
Yeah, the wanderer
I roam around, around, around
Oh well, there’s HRT on my left and there’s Spyker on my right
But Super Aguri is the team that I’ll be with tonight
And when they ask me, which team loves me the best
I tear open my shirt and show ’em the money on my chest
‘Cause I’m the wanderer
Yeah, the wanderer
I roam around, around, around
Oh well, I roam from team to team
I go through life without a care
And I’m as happy as a clown
With my two fists of cash and I’m going nowhere
I’m the type of guy that likes to roam around
I’m never in one place, I roam from team to team
And when I find myself without another drive
I pay to get in that car of yours and ride around the world
Yeah I’m the wanderer
Yeah, the wanderer
I roam around, around, around…
22nd July 2011, 12:16 at 12:16 pm #174971StevoMemberSebastien Vettel ‘I’m in love with my car’ by queen
22nd July 2011, 12:40 at 12:40 pm #174972DavidSParticipantSince we’re on the whole Queen/Red Bull driver theme, how about
for Mark Webber
Don’t Stop Me Now – Queen
22nd July 2011, 13:06 at 1:06 pm #174973AnonymousInactive“I’ve got the green light, I’ve got a little fight, I’m going to turn this thing around.” Webber. Killers- Read My Mind
Alonso switchgate- “I get by with a little help from my friends.”
“Yesterday,
All my troubles seemed so far away,
Now it looks as though they’re here to stay,
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
Suddenly,
I’m not half the man I used to be,
There’s a shadow hanging over me” Beatles-Yesterday I think suits Hamilton as one minute he’s on top of the world the next the papers are constantly having a go.
22nd July 2011, 13:13 at 1:13 pm #174974TommyBParticipantBBC chose Wonderman for a race after Vettel won and some of the lyrics are very apt.
“Yeh, these haters couldn’t get to where I am with a full tank of petrol”
22nd July 2011, 13:13 at 1:13 pm #174975IcthyesParticipantStevo wins for an obscure Queen reference.
22nd July 2011, 13:47 at 1:47 pm #174976SlrParticipantAs a Linkin Park fan I think this verse from “Points of Authority” goes well with Michael Schumacher in a way…
Forfeit the game
Before somebody else
Takes you out of the frame
And puts your name to shame
Cover up your face
You can’t run the race
The pace is too fast
You just won’t last
