From the looks of things, they’ve planted some trees. I know they have grand plans for the circuit becoming the centre of a new city, but that’s not something that’s going to spring up over the course of one year. If it takes, I wouldn’t expect skyscrapers until 2013 at the earliest. It’ll probably be closer to 2015, especially since the event has been moved up the calendar. But until then, at least they’ve got a parklands feel to the circuit, like Melbourne and Montreal.
