It’s been uploaded to youtube but was already deleted on a few accounts as well. It’s not hard to see why but as a fan, some people including myself do want to see the footage, as terrible as it is.
So before clicking, be warned, it’s awful.

Looks even worse than I imagined…

Bianchi looked to be coming in too hot there though.

6th October 2014, 16:45 at 4:45 pm #277337himmatsjParticipantExtreme viewer discretion recommended. It is a pretty ghastly crash that could have instantly killed any number of people.
6th October 2014, 17:17 at 5:17 pm #277341Adam BlockerParticipantThat was absolutely horrific. The marshals were lucky to avoid being killed.

It looks like he hit the truck sideways and his head went all the way to the right on impact as the headrest is completely gone in the following pic.
http://autosprint.corrieredellosport.it/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/01.jpgThe roll-hoop hit the truck next and this made it possible for his helmet to clear the rest of the truck.
Could have been even worse…I have also seen a picture of the truck here

Seems to show 2 impact pointsA different roll structure design could have maybe protected more

6th October 2014, 19:24 at 7:24 pm #277346barkunParticipantoh my… the impact must have been huge since it managed to lift such a heavy vehicle
… Forza Jules !6th October 2014, 21:25 at 9:25 pm #277351MazdaChrisParticipantThat is an absolutely horrific impact. Nearly lifts the truck into the air. At least having the weight of Sutil’s car off the front meant it did lift up. Without the weight of Sutil’s car hanging off the front it might not have lifted at all, and just totally flattned the Marussia.
It’s hard to see how anyone can survive that. Hoping for the best, but fearing the worst. :(
6th October 2014, 21:43 at 9:43 pm #277352MichaelParticipantBest wishes to Jules and his family! I’m glad no one else was hurt – I read his helmet had no damage which is just a miracle looking at this video.
If he can survive this and have a normal life, that will be equivalent to winning all the WDCs in the world. Coming back to F1 is a distant 3rd. I hope he can recover!
