Suzuka has been resurfaced from the Degner curve to the chicane (turns seven to sixteen) this year.

FIA medical car driver Alan van der Merwe says the resurfacing has changed the character of the circuit:

Some corners a lot less challenging, and car placement not as difficult or critical anymore – more overtaking?! Would be nice

Don’t get me wrong – still a lovely combination of flowing, technical mid-speed and ballsy high-speed stuff. Just a bit less bumpy now!

It will be interesting to see how will the cars go throught T12,14,15 as those were the bumpiest sections. With the blown diffuser it was mutch easier to go flat at the exit of spoon, but without it, that bump could really send cars into the gravel. Now even without the EBDs some might try to use DRS throught T12 or at 130R, but Im sure Kobayashi will risk it.
