    Whoops, almost forgot my manners!

Greetings Mr Jehto and welcome to the forum! I hope that you enjoy your tenure here, however long that may prove to be.

Allow me to say that I was always a big fan of yours and that you were always an underrated driver in my humble opinion. However, if you are not actually JJ himself and am simply adopting his likeness for a username as a tribute to the great man, I apologise.

it is really just a tribute (always enjoyed the man, the racer and his name), thanks for the welcoming.

actually, in terms of personality (particularly the way they handle the media), I tend to like all the “flying fins” (and I’m not finnish)

Nicely remembered Mr Magnificent! I was unable to take your argument seriously knowing that the most basic of manners, the humble hello and welcome, had been temporarily forgotten. Now, with your former grace restored I am once again able to see that you are indeed the master of such topics. Specifically your knowledge of the BBC commentary is far above a humble f1 peasant such as myself and thus I have little option but to conclude that your opinions, based on accrued wisdom and bountiful expertise, are far superior to my own and you are 100% correct. Our friend, mr Lehto (we can see through the disguise of ‘jehto’ you know, you sly fox!), really has no option but to agree – so much so that i’ve taken his new opinion as read without need to reply.

    Praise be to your magnificence.

More seriously, i’m surprised this topic has got this far. My opinion of Monaco is that they made a few mistakes but that didn’t detract from the fact that the commentary was still fantastic albeit slightly lower than the usual standard. But its so much better than anything we’ve had since Murray (although Allen wasn’t as bad as the internet hate campagin made out). Murray will never be back so accept that and move on with the times! You may, though, watch a documentary on him which is on tonight on the BBC. Don’t forget.

my opinion (above) is not at all that negative in regard of the two commentators. and as a whole the BBC coverage is probably the best there is. My issue is that it could be better: I would prefer a professional “colour commentator”, one that is able to give a bit more live to a boring race and to excite us on a live one (and Martin, as good as he is in the other role (non lead) is just not able to do that). like I said,
” you need a skilled person, that is, a talent in communication who has nurtured his ability since a young age. Brundle’s skill is driving (and knowing about F1), not communicating.” One wants a great communicator in that role, not just a average/above average like MB.

and DC could make a bit more effort for losing his accent as he is “talking to millions of english speaking persons in the world”

In the end, it’s just a few issues, a question of personal taste
