    I hadn’t thought of that, but you’re right, if it separates out into lots of tiny exhausts, those small holes could all be exhaust exits. Scarabs would’ve had no way of guessing what a radical design they’re trying though, so I think he’s completely justifIed in saying what he did given the information available to him at the time he wrote that article.

    Another thing I haven’t seen mentioned here yet is that Scarbs tweeted that he’d received clarification from Sam Michael that anything used to “pipe” hot gases was considered an exhaust, and therefore pyrosic would not be allowed, and that they couldn’t skirt around the two exits rule either. Now I don’t know if that’s just Williams’ understanding of the rules, or if there’s actually been some kind of clarification or ruling from Charlie Whiting. Would be interesting to know.

    That rule, if it’s right seems pretty water tight.

    I thought the exhaust gas, if it did pass through the ceramic box, would exit in close to proximity to the diffuser, I had a quick look on Scars blog but they didn’t seem to focus on the diffuser.
