Well now, the season has opened
    And Button just owned it
The first race is of course too early to tell
Whether Lewis’ season will be all living hell

‘Twas a fine race, that was
    I say confidently because
    Places eight to eleven
    Came in almost even
    Between them .390
    Good god lord all mighty!

    Well anyhoo,
Just though I’d kick start this thread
    And by the by, too
Where’s Steph gone to? and how about Ned?

    Paster was fast
    Before he crashed
A team reminiscent of Williams past

There once was a man named Perez,
Who spent his pre season in Jerez,
    He’d better be prayerful,
    Because if he’s not careful,
    He’ll be replaced by Gutierrez!

Near the back of the grid,
A man has Angry Birds on his lid,
    He has quite high hopes,
    His team learned the ropes,
But his suspension broke god forbid!

The old memories of F1 last year that linger
Are of Red Bull’s dominance and Vettel’s forefinger
I really hope now that those times have ended
Now what I want is for Kubica to be mended!

The title battle has just begun.
The first race has been lost and won.
    But with Button so fast.
    Vettel just past.
No wonder Hamilton’s looking so glum.

The Australian victor this year is our Jense
His smooth driving talent is surely immense
He took the lead at his team-mate’s expense
And controlled the race with little suspense.

A modest debut for Jean-Éric Vergne,
He’s quick but still has much to learn,
He battled with Massa, who was quite stubborn
But he couldn’t hold off Danny at the last turn.

    Hero of qualy, Romain Grosjean
    Was hit by Maldonado head-on
And rolled out on the gravel and lawn
    Poor Romain, his race withdrawn.

Last time out we saw “one of the most beautiful” drives from Alonso
he shocked us all because we thought the car was slow
    meanwhile Peter Sauber was crying
thanks to Sergio Perez who was flying!

    Malaysian Salad

This salad was a roll of the dice
with Mexican pepper as its spice
add water just to clean the field
though Finnish dirt will not yield
some cucumber to mix things up
French vinaigrette, but just a sup
and some Spanish cheese on top
makes this dish surprising, full stop!
