I think this series is amazing. I have no idea about the process of making an animated film, but the quality of the animation is fantastic and they’ve obviously had to write and animate that latest episode between the Perez announcement and this weekend. That doesn’t seem like a lot of time to me. I just find this whole series really impressive.

Desperately unfunny. I’m sure that the marketing genii at McL think this is great but it looks like theyve got waaaay too much time on their hands.

I thought that was great. I especially liked the way they worked Hamilton’s departure and Perez’s arrival into the story, though I’m waiting to see how they explain it lest they present it as Hamilton having transformed into Perez.

I thought they would probably gloss over the disappearance of Hamilton and suddenly have Perez alongside Button for year two.

Instead they delivered an episode which had you wondering from the start exactly what they had planned. The introduction of Ron Dennis was very nicely done and there were some good jokes too.

I’ve been really impressed by Tooned. I just wish they’d given it a better name.

Also I notice that Sky have started putting the legend “Advertisement” across the bottom of the screen when they show it – presumably a legal requirement.

The jokes are a bit lame and the storylines are a bit predictable (“prof wants to do something boring, drivers have other ideas” has been used in most episodes), but I still really enjoyed watching the first series. It’s good to see an F1 constructor with a sense of humour. I’m glad they dealt with Hamilton’s departure “properly”, too, rather than just glossing over it. Hamilton and McLaren seem to have been getting on better than ever since he announced he was leaving!

I loved the “do you want to continue” and Hamilton guessing and pressing “no”. :P

I absolutely cracked to the “we’re buffering” joke. Hamilton pressing “no” was priceless too! Best episode yet.

I quite liked Ron Dennis as a James Bond villain, what with Cosworth the talking parrot and the way his face was never shown.

I wonder if any of the other teams would be sporting enough to get in on the act. I could see an episode where Lewis wakes up to find himself in Mercedes and Jenson trying to find him:

“It’s okay, Jenson, we’ve found Lewis. He’s at Brackley.”

    “Where?”

“You know, Mercedes. They used to be known as Tyrell.”

    “Uh … no?”

    “BAR? Honda? Brawn?”

“Oh, right, Brackley! Wow, Mercedes. Is that what they’re calling themselves this week?”

Which would open up a running gag where Jenson thinks someone is referring to Brackley every time they mention another team.

I hope they don’t use too many mexican stereotypes next year… no need to turn Perez into Speedy Gonzales, really…

    @fer-no65 I really hope that, too. :-

It also turns out that McLaren are still running on Windows XP.

I thought it was funny how they played on Lewis’ less-than-perfect behaviour on Twitter this year!

I’ve enjoyed the Tooned series. It has been a bit hit and miss, but generally it’s been a chuckle. Alexander Armstrong is the only one capable of delivering a line believably, but then that’s sort of to be expected.

It’s certainly miles better than the excruciatingly unfunny comic series which Lotus have on their Facebook feed.

    I couldn’t agree more.
