Found the last few hard to pick. I see a lot of people have put Barrichello, and although I’ve been a critic in recent years and he never really challenged Schumacher, he was solid and won a good number of races. Same as Webber, except he came very close last year too. I saw that several others have, but I didn’t want to put Massa because other than 08 I see him as being average, and since Kubica was IMO better in 08 and did very well in a poor car last year I put him over Massa. Never really saw R Schumacher, Trulli, Fisichella, Coulthard enough in the early years before they became dull, so I couldn’t really put them in.

    First the relatively easy ones:

    1. Michael Schumacher
    2. Fernando Alonso
    3. Sebastian Vettel
    4. Kimi Räikkönen
    5. Lewis Hamilton
    6. Jenson Button

That’s all the world champions since 2000, so it gets a bit harder after that:

    7. Mika Häkkinen
    8. Felipe Massa

And these last two places could be taken by any number of candidates:

    9. Juan-Pablo Montoya
    10. David Coulthard

Thanks to everyone for voting so far! Some interesting votes coming in there.

Vettel and Button are two of the drivers who have already outperformed their 2010 scores, no doubt thanks to their stellar seasons this year. The other driver who outperformed his 2010 score is Ralf Schumacher. Scoring only 1 point last year, he has already scored 7 points. It seems that despite not racing in F1 this year, people are giving him more credit for his peak in 2001-2003.

After 21 votes, here are the results so far:

    1. M Schumacher – 505 (19 1st’s)
    2. Alonso – 383 (2 1st’s)
    3. Vettel – 290
    4. Raikkonen – 239
    5. Hamilton – 224
    6. Button – 155
    7. Hakkinen – 74
    8. Montoya – 68
    9. Massa – 60
    10. Kubica – 42
    11. Barrichello – 24
    12. Coulthard – 21
    13. Webber – 17
    14. R Schumacher – 7
    15. Rosberg – 7
    16. Heidfeld – 4
    17. Fisichella – 1

Keep voting! I will update the results as we go on.

    I can’t see how Ralf could figure in anyone’s top 10, but I guess that’s why we’re doing this, to get everyone’s opinion… :P

I’m purely being selfish, and not putting JPM in my top 10, he annoys me :P
