@npf1 Thanks! Hmmm. No Jenson Button on your list?

    1. Schumacher (pretty obvious which one)
    2. Alonso
    3. Vettel
    4. Raikkonen
    5. Hamilton
    6. Button
    7. Montoya
    8. Webber
    9. Massa
    10. Hakkinen

I rank Raikkonen and Hamilton particularly closely, with Raikkonen taking it due to his accomplishments in the sport before Hamilton arrived, and all the top 5 are reasonably close. Then I’d have a fairly large gap before Button.

I will try to rake them in base of their skills(or the way i see them), rather than their success. Success in formula 1 are highly linked with the speed of the car and the quality of the team, at the end is a winning package and not a winning person. As the thread here is for drivers and not for packages, i will try to give my opinion on this.

    1. Fernando Alonso
    2. Lewis Hamilton
    3. Michael Schumacher
    4. Sebastian Vettel
    5. Kimi Raikkonen
    6. Robert Kubica
    7. Jenson Button
    8. Felipe Massa
    9. Mika Hakkinen
    10. Rubens Barrichello

    3. Vettel 415
    4. Raikkonen 319
    5. Hamilton 298
    6. Button 180
    7. Hakkinen 103
    8. Massa 91
    9. Montoya 83
    10. Barrichello 37

    16. Rosberg 2
    17. Trulli 1
    18. Kovalainen 1
    19. Karthikeyan 1

The big change is Massa moves ahead of Montoya for 8th. Once we get to 30+ votes, I’m planning to post a net loss-gain percentage, showing the average points per driver and a comparison on how well they’re doing compared to last year’s average.

    More votes, please! :)

I found it interesting that the only change I made from 2011 to 2012 was replacing Coulthard with Barrichello in 9th – so obviously not based on anything that happened on track this year, just some sort of subconscious change in opinion!

@ed24f1 Rubens didn’t have the best season last year, so that may have affected how you thought of him then. But now with him not around, perhaps you were better able to assess him based on his 21st century run as a whole? I was surprised at first that it goes against the retirement effect (the longer ago they last raced, the less likely they’d be remembered), but then you replaced one retired driver with another. :)
