If Raikkonen wasn’t there, Alonso could have stopped outside of the white lines. That would have been somewhat safe. But now, he stopped on the track, while Rosberg could have taken out Webber on feet and Hamilton could have crashed into the back of Fernando.
If Alonso and Webber had been safe about this, I’d still feel bad about these reprimands, but Alonso and especially Webber should be glad they got out alright. On a purpose-built circuit, you could have seen them from a large distance, but on a street circuit like this, you can’t see through a wall or a fence from the car. If a pedestrian were to be hit by a road car going 80kph, it’d be considered fast, but for F1 some people seem to think it’d be like falling on a mattress..
