    the last (James Brickles) plus introducing refuelings (with harsh penaltys, like GP bans, for getting our of the pits with the fuel hose attached or burning). Maybe it’s going back in time but I did love the races/race strategies back then…

    @james-brickles I honestly doubt it. For a third of, maybe half, of a season, it would. But then they’d all catch on to the quickest strategy. Besides – we’ve seen even as early as from China this year that you don’t need a solid strategy given a good gap, you can just react. Then we saw that happening in Turkey with RBR. Vettel never dictated strategy from that point on (other than Monaco). He just kept on covering the others’ pitstops

    I think we’re in a pretty good place in terms of strategies, personally i wouldn’t be to happy if refuelling was to be reintroduced. I think the best thing to improve strategy without mass rule changes would be having the tyre compounds slightly nearer to each other in performance terms but with the prime still lasting a fair bit longer, maybe scrapping the “starting on whatever tyre you set your quickest qualy lap on” rule too.
