Exactly how have Codemasters altered or improved the damage done to the cars? And what kind of reliability problems can we expect to occur? Engine? Gearbox? Brakes?

Did they put in better camera angles for the replays?
Like here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZWnnFIMtG4 you can’t see anything and it’s a totally unrealistic camera angle.
More zoomed in shots of cars. Ability to change from onboard cameras to trackside cameras.

Will your engineer come over the radio and tell you either:

a) “the car behind is faster than you”, and whether you “understood the message” or not.

b) “maintain the gap” to the car in front, with 3 laps to go, when you’re closing in on them?

Because if people are gunning for realism, safety cars, podium ceremonies, and the like, then F12011 will need team orders.

Whether slipstream actually works. A friend on twitter and myself noticed that when you line up behind a car, the car in front goes quicker than you!

Geo, slipstreaming does work. Not so much when you equalise car performance, but definitely when the cars are left as 2010 performance.

Without wishing to get into a debate about it – as far as I know, that will be gear ratios rather than slipstreaming. It may have been patched in though, my info is from when the game was released.

Regardless, would be interesting to see if codemaster has a better slipstreaming model in the game as the fact that we are debating about it shows that it clearly wasn’t that good

I’d like to know if they have put any more statistics in there. Thinking back to the good old days of Grand Prix 4 you could look at lap times throughout the race, race positions throughout the race, fastest laps. I’d really like to see that.

One thing I’d like to know if they have put in, is to compare telemetry between you and your team mate like you can in real life. I know before they released the patch, your engineer would tell you to copy your team mates set up, but there was no way of doing this. I’d like to know if they have actually tried to implement this.

Another thing that really annoyed me was the unrealistic ‘driver level’ system. I started at Lotus and after two seasons had won three or so races and was running in the top 8 frequently whilst Trulli floundered at the back, yet still no driver offers came. Madness.

Customisation? – I know you can’t compare but the level of customisation in games like (and especially) Forza 3 was absolutely mind-boggling, and kept me coming back to play time after time, wheras F1 2010 completely lacked this, and I soon tired of the game after 6 months, wheras Forza’s customisation and online features mean I’m still playing it a year and a half after I got it…
