I personally would like to see Kashmir, by Led Zepplin.

It would take some editing to get it to build enough in the time allowed for opening titles but the suspense would be epic. Especially for the first race.

I heard rumour (although to be honest it was probably an Alistair Griffin fan) say that Just Drive might be used. I like the song but doubt it will be used because it was recorded for the BBC

I don’t think there will be a “signature” tune. I think it will just be like the football music. Some generic classical piece in the background.

Sorry. But MCR and Metallica as Sky’s F1 intro theme would make me hit the mute button in 0.5 of a second.
This would be my choice. Truth by T-Square. It is to Japan what “The Chain” is to the UK, F1′s unofficial theme and in my opinion it’s very catchy.

If that remix is not to your liking then there’s this 20th anniversary mix.

never heard that T square thing but I actually quite like the idea of something weird and 80′s sounding as the theme.

I think that Dance with the Devil has the right sort of build up into the rock that i can just picture a montage of f1 clips in my head haha

I’d love sky to do something like fox did with their nascar intro and redo a song with racing lyrics.

cant see country music going down to well in the uk though, so it would have to be something a bit more rock….. 5 live’s ACDC seemed to work ok

I know this is against the spirit of the question but I don’t see why Sky couldn’t use The Chain…after all, they’ve nicked everything else from the BBC haven’t they ;-)

Oh, and if they don’t use that how about the Knights of Cydonia by Muse?
