I have reviewed the 2012/13 F1 off-season, picked 100 F1 Fanatic articles that tell the story of it and divided them into 11 groups.
Did you enjoy the off-season? What were the best and worst moments?

11th March 2013, 8:48 at 8:48 am #228421TodfodParticipantSutil getting the Force India was probably my favourite moment of the off season
11th March 2013, 9:04 at 9:04 am #228422GeeMacParticipantWorst: The off season beginning.
Honourable mention for worst: Glock being dropped by Marussia.Favourite: The off season ending…well it will be when it officially happens on Friday!
Honourable mention for favourite: The start of launch season.11th March 2013, 9:21 at 9:21 am #228423JourneyerParticipantYou should ask @keithcollantine to post this on the main site! Brilliant work putting this together.
Top 3 Worst:
1. The attempted putsch against Brawn at Mercedes
2. Glock and Kobayashi out of F1
3. FOM’s failure to renew Fanvision for 2013 and beyondTop 3 Best:
1. Sky F1’s testing coverage – especially Ted’s Notebook!
2. The Ford Fusion TVC campaign featuring Piquet and Mansell
3. The appearance of the vanity panels11th March 2013, 9:37 at 9:37 am #228424AdrianMorseParticipantGreat effort, @girts, thanks!
Top 3 Worst:
1. The failure to get a 20th race on the calender, and moving dates of existing races around in an attempt to make it happen.
2. Bianchi not being chosen for Force India.
3. The fact that F1 is going Pay TV, and getting more and more expensive to watch.Top 3 Favourite:
1. Barcelona testing: I enjoyed testing this year, and even got to see a bit of live action via Sky (not legally, sorry), and the fact that Mercedes seem to have a promising package.
2. Bianchi getting at least a Marussia drive.
3. Giedo van der Garde getting the second Caterham drive. I realise that this point may appear on many people’s Worst list, but I’m happy to finally have a compatriot on the grid again, and I hope he will prove a few doubters wrong.12th March 2013, 9:41 at 9:41 am #228425SilverkegParticipantWow! Well done.
My worst moments: Timo Glock being dropped and no 20th race
Best moments: Sutil! Sutil is back!
12th March 2013, 9:56 at 9:56 am #228426CristianParticipantFavourite:
1. Sutil returns to Force India
2. Grosjean keeps his place at Lotus
3. The German Grand Prix will be held at Nurburgring
Worst:
1. Glock loses place
2. Kobayashi loses place
3. HRT’s ending12th March 2013, 10:09 at 10:09 am #228427SilverkegParticipantOh yeah, Confirmation of HRT’s demise was truly awful. I absolutely hate whenever a Formula 1 team folds, no matter their success :(
12th March 2013, 10:43 at 10:43 am #228428Master fireleeParticipantFave’s:
1: Sutil Returns. :)
2: Bianchi still gets a drive.
3: Testing starts.worst:
1: Kobayashi not returning :(
2: HRT’s death.
3: Glock sacked.13th March 2013, 18:53 at 6:53 pm #228429GirtsParticipantThanks very much guys for your answers and the appreciation. This hasn’t been my favourite off-season and I’m glad it’s (almost) over now. However, it had a few good moments, too:
1. The return of Sutil
2. Several of the new cars are surprisingly cute, I particularly like the looks of Ferrari, Red Bull and Caterham.
3. Some of the teams’ and drivers’ activities in the social networks were really amusing, such as Sauber’s ‘Harlem Shake’ and Williams’ drivers ‘getting to know each other’ game. That said, I felt that the number of negative news was bigger. The collapse of HRT, the uncertainty over the future of the German GP, Glock and Kovalainen leaving and the general atmosphere somehow left an unpleasant aftertaste. And, just like a lot of other fans, I always love to see new drivers in the sport, even the likes of Chilton and Van der Garde. It’s just sad that the business model of F1 means that they don’t join new teams but push some great and strong drivers out of the shrinking field.
