    The fall of Williams cannot be attributed to any one reason alone . They managed their drivers poorly . Lost Adrian Newey . Active suspension was banned . Even things like CVT that they were secretly developing was banned to slow them down . Then there was Senna’s death that troubled them for a long time . They spent some time with BMW ,but they turned out to be pathetic partners . Stupid stint with the weak Toyota engine and Nakajima ( He’s a nice bloke , but not that good a driver ) . Now they are in with Cosworth . Williams have always struggled to cope with engine changes so not having a stable partner did not help either .

    @DavidS

    Stoddart established Minardi USA and raced at the CART championship, before its merger with the IRL. He did try to return with Minardi to F1, but -thankfully- he was not given the FIA approval.
    From what I remember, he was a beggar, always asking for more money from everyone involved…

    As to Patrick Head, he did not sound like a pensioner in that great episode of The Flying Lap last wednesday (first 30 minutes of Frank Williams AND about 20 minutes of Head, great show have a look, its worth it).

    Another person I think got sort of lost was Klien, until Kolles suddenly got him back close to F1 last year. Another ex-spyker dutchman who disappeared is Alberts, not that he was to special.

    Last I heard from Pizzonia, he’s racing back home in Brazil. Bruni is now a successful GT racer for Ferrari, and has been racing at Le Mans for a few years now. Not a bad gig for Bruni, considering he’s Italian.

    Mark Webber- nearly won the 2010 title and then he just disappeared! :P

    Sorry, couldn’t resist!

    Jose Maria Lopez who was supposed to drive for USF1?

    Careful because that leaves you open to Massa jokes!

    Apparently Lopez drives touring cars in Argentina now.

    Pizzonia appeared in this month F1 Racing.
    He is racing in Brazil. And he is doing triathlons. He plans to be the first former F1 driver to complete an ironman Triathlon.

    On the subject of Argentinians – what about that one that was in the mid-1990′s, drove a Sauber and was pretty young? Then disappeared off the face of the earth. Last I heard of him he was alleging that Jean Todt appeared in body or spirit in the Sauber garage in Jerez 1997 to get him to hold up the Williams but not the Ferrari.

    Norberto Fontana? He did a few races for Sauber in 1997, then went back to F3000 and Formula Nippon. He also did a few CART races and then went back to TC2000 in Argentina.

    Pizzonia is also racing for the Brazil team in the Superleague Formula, while Nakajima got a drive for the Petronas TOM’S Team in Formula Nippon.

    So……. what ever happened to Kazim Vasiliauskas and Harald Schlegelmilch?
