Zadak – I wasn’t aware that Trulli was even in contention for the Ferrari seat. Have you got any source? In any case it wouldn’t have been the right decision; even if he’d performed better than Luca or Fisi, he’d still have been scrabbling around for minor points at best, whereas the Toyota was a solid, regular-points/occasional-podium-scoring car.
Ned – I didn’t really expect the new teams to make more progress than what Lotus have done, but as SBL points out there wasn’t really a better alternative for Jarno at the time. Shame the 2010 Toyota never made it to the grid, who knows how quick it might have been…
