We’ll have two actually. Austin – the track layout, the fresh asphalt and the big question mark over setup and tyre wear is bound to catch more than a couple of drivers off guard, and of course Brazil – the WDC decider on an oldschool track. India and Abu Dhabi will be boring as hell tho.

When it’s all said and done, will Paul Di Resta ever make it out of the midfield to a top team or will he be just a modern version of Nick Heidfeld: driving for modest teams, a decent result here, a decent result there, a decent season out of many but average overall?

Yes. Vettel in 2016, although Alonso will out-score him in 2015 hence they’ll be 1-1 when teammates for 2 seasons.

Typical Tilkedome, with a huge straight where there will be either no overtaking or highway passes. Turn 1 looks cool, but because it’s uphill, there’s a uselessly slow corner before it and it will be slippery off-line, it’ll probably not be any good for overtaking. As for the rest, what’s the point of re-using corners from other tracks that already are on the calendar!? Like they all don’t look too much alike already!!! So many great road circuits in The States and then they spend millions on this!?!

In short: maybe to some, but not to me.

Will the FIA ever allow circuits with lap times under one minute or over two minutes?

No. The regulations are getting more strict every year, sadly. Although me thinks drivers do close to 2 minutes around Spa or Singapore with heavy fuel loads, even in the dry, if I’m not mistaken.

When it’s all said and done, which driver will have enjoyed more success during their F1 career by the end of 2020 – Bruno Senna or Pastor Maldonado?

In a few years’ time, when there’s a Mexican GP, it will alternate with New Jersey, but it will stay on the calendar for a long time, at least 15 years.

If Massa’s return to form is permanent, and he outscores Alonso in the first 5 races of 2013 legitimately, will he still be number 2?

No. Massa will become #1. A crucial twist of faith will occur in Ferrari, although I personally highly doubt it will happen.

When it’s all said and done, will we look back at 2008 with a false sense of the future, and how eventually, Vettel raised to the top and Hamilton failed to live up to the hype?
