@matt90 Exactly, manufacturers are both a gift and a curse for Formula 1. They’re great to have, but will abandon their F1 projects when results don’t come quick enough (Honda, Toyota, BMW in just the past few years). I like the idea of having manufacturers that actively support private teams, like McLaren used to be supported by Mercedes and will soon be supported by Honda. I really want BMW to return, even Ecclestone thinks they’ll return sooner or later. Let them do what they used to do and join Willliams again, that might turn around things for Williams.
We currently have 4 engine suppliers and only 3 next year. That’s just not a healty number. But I can’t blame manufacturers for not joining the F1 circus, the regulations are so tight that everyone’s building the exact same engine with a different badge on it anyway.
