    @Younger_Hamii

Travel/transport costs don’t make a big difference I don’t think, I was under the impression that the BBC send their team there anyway (correct me if I’m wrong!)

    I’d take:

    Australia
    China
    Monaco
    Canada
GB (have to miss NJ due to the clause I believe exists that says that neither can have more than “3-in-a-row” – it may infact be 2!)
    Spa
    Monza
    Suzuka
    COTA
    Brazil

I don’t really know which ones to pick, but the more I look at these lists, the more I find that 10 races is not enough! @garns, I don’t know about the others, but I would choose Australia for being the season opener.

I’m a little suprised so many people chose Monaco, it was also one the races BBC immediately announced they would have for 2012. I can understand why Eddie et al. would want to go to Monaco, but as a TV viewing experience it is often a disappointing race. The 2011 event had the makings of a classis, prior to the red flag, but 2010 was quite dull and 2012 wasn’t all that exciting either. I would choose:
    1 Australia
    2 Malaysia
    3 China
    7 Canada
    8 New Jersey
    9 Great Britain
    12 Belgium
    16 Japan
    19 Austin
    20 Brazil

    The rules are very restrictive.

BBC aren’t allowed to show 3 races in a row, maximum is 2. For me, it’s essential to have 1st and last races – I couldn’t believe the beeb didn’t get Australia this year! CRAZY! I don’t know if Sky also had some sort of veto option for certain BBC picks though, although I suspect not as they did get Monaco, Silverstone etc…

So for next Year I’d like to see….

    1. Australia
    3. China
    6. Monaco
    7. Canada
    9. Britain
    10. Germany
    12. Italy
    13. Spa
    16. Japan
    20. Brazil

Something like that. I would like to see India or one of the US tracks in their though…

I’d go with the following. To be honest, I have never found that Monaco lives up to the hype (it’s generally a snore-fest) so would be more than happy to watch highlights only, if necessary. Have put in Malaysia as it’s nice to get a good chance of a wet race. One problem with my selection is the long gap between Malaysia and Canada.

    1. Australia
    2. Malaysia
    7. Canada
    9. Britain
    10. Germany
    12. Spa
    13. Italy
    16. Japan
    19. Austin
    20. Brazil

@infernojim: sorry for the late reply, but I thought I had better explain the system that was used to decide which races would be live on which channel. Each side got to pick three races in turn, with the BBC going first. They pretty much had to pick the three they did – Britain because it is the home Grand Prix, Brazil in case the championship battle goes down to the last race (especially if it had involved a British driver), and Monaco because of its status. Sky seized the opportunity to make the first two races exclusive to them. Personally, in the BBC’s shoes, I would have taken Australia over Monaco, but in an ideal world, they’d have both.

Here’s what I’d go for next year, though I know that it won’t happen because of the aforementioned system of picks:

    1. Australia
    3. China
    6. Monaco (or New Jersey, if it goes ahead)
    7. Canada
    9. Britain
    10. Germany
    12. Belgium
    13. Italy
    16. Japan
    20. Brazil
