Peter Sauber has a sharp eye for spotting young talent, whoever he picks for the 2013 seat, I’ll be keeping a close eye on him. As I have pointed out before, I would prefer/choose Robin Frijns over anyone else, but that’s just me.

I’m not buying into these Schumacher-to-Sauber rumours that have popped up overnight. His management was reportedly talking to the team at Monza, but it’s pretty obvious that the rumours only came up because Hamilton took his place at Mercedes, and Perez stepped into the vacant McLaren, thereby creating a neat opening for Schumacher to fill at Sauber.

@kingshark Frijns is testing the Sauber at Abu Dhabi later this year. He’s negotiating a reserve role with Sauber and Williams (hinting at a full-time seat for Bottas). While Frijns is clearly talented, he needs more experience in an F1 car before he races in the big leagues.

Kobayashi is probably leaving as he doesn’t carry much money (he entered the sport through Toyota funding). With Perez gone, I’m curious as to Sauber’s next cash inflow. Can they afford Schumacher? Will Gutierrez be promoted? Has Alguersuari signed for Force India or Sauber? Is Bianchi a possibility for Sauber?

There is a chance Alguersuari has signed to Force India due to his Emirati-Mercedes connections from STR. Personally, I’d love to see Hülkenberg in a Sauber.

Peter Sauber has stated that he would take Schumacher anytime. It’s up to Michael to decide this one.
