They are somewhat groovy. I’m a sucker for a bit of tastefully pulled off retro. This being an F1 forum I shall do a wee bit of ranking.

    1 Pirelli
    2 Goodyear
    3 Bridgestone
    4 Michelin

While I liked the difference of the Pirelli caps, I would quite like an assortment of cap colours on the podium….

I think the blue Michelin hats were the best ones by far, the new Pirelli would be better if they remove the yellow rectangle and just leave the Pirelli letters in yellow with the rest of the hat black

It looked great on Petrov with the Renault team kit. Not so much on Vetterl, and clashed terribly on Hamilton. On its own I would agree with Luigismen, lose the yellow box and make the logo itself yellow on the black. That would be an improvement.

I like the last one with the 3D image of a pair of swimming goggles best;-)
Of the newer ones, I certainly don’t like the new Pirelli caps – they look as the cheap type of free merchandising You can get. Only a slight level above a childrens cap from an amusement park somewhere – but maybee that is what F1 is today: An amusement park, where You can buy the right to try the carts going merry around and merry around – in a way You could argue that is what Petrov did;-)
(Don’t mistake me, I’m full of respect for what he has achieved now and somewhat before the last race in 2010 I felt he deserved his spot in F1, maybe not in a car as good as the Renault.)

They are all the same design – it’s just the name in the box and colour that change…
Why does (did) Schumacher wear the Deutsche Vermoegens…. cap instead of the standard issue podium cap?

Deutsche Vermogensberatung (DVAG) was a sponsor of Michael Schumacher. But I think he used the normal Bridgestone/Goodyear ones on the podium.
