The F1 website used to have a great repository of lap times and results reaching back to the first race in 1950. This was invaluable for those who enjoy the history of the sport. There is some stuff on Wikipedia but no where near as much detail in the data!

Does anyone know where to look for this now? For example, who was sixth in FP2 at Monaco in 1998?

I always found the F1 site lacking compared to others on the net… but FP times would be harder to find. I use statsF1, silhouet etc. but on this occasion, chicane F1 gives the answer as Eddie Irvine ;) – http://www.chicanef1.com/race.pl?year=1998&gp=Monaco%20GP&r=1&type=t1.

That was FP1, Wurz was fastest in the questioned FP2.

If you have an Autosport.com subscription, you can use Forix as well.

@hunocsi True, I wrote that at first, but then noticed that the sessions were titled “Warm Up”, “FP1”, “FP2”. Nowadays that sounds like just FP1, FP2, FP3.
