Who will be the next repeat winner? (35 posts)

Well, Valencia was a lot like Bahrain in that respect. The tarmac was very hot, about 41° C. therefore Red Bull and Lotus looked to be the best while Mclaren and Mercedes struggled horribly with tyre wear; despite Schumi’s podium.

The temperature at the British GP is generally cool. In fact, Silverstone is usually equally cold or colder than Shanghai. In that case, I consider Mercedes to be favourites. They have been quite unlucky with the weather for the past few races; but next up in Silverstone and Hockenheim will tip their way I reckon. Rosberg to repeat win, or Hamilton?

If the track temperature is any lower than 30°, Mercedes are going to be quicker than Red Bull and Lotus.

@Kingshark To be honest – we know too little about the new Red Bull to make any such predictions on their form. I wouldn’t even call the upgrade a step forward just yet. Vettel is a Valencia specialist anyways – it could have been that and not the upgrades.

Maybe the new upgrades also moved the temperature window of the Red Bull.

I don’t think they have much trouble switching tyres on nowadays – They’ve got 4 poles (albeit one – Monaco – was gifted by Schumacher’s penalty) out of the last 5 races.

There are two things you can be sure of; death and taxes.
And there are two things which are impossible to predict; the English weather and the winner of the next Grand Prix.

@katederby I absolutely disagree. You’re forgetting Spa and Hockenheim, and possibly Nurburgring too in the weather argument :P

I’m not sure what you disagree with? I never said the English weather was the only one that’s hard to predict. :P
