I am not really doing the maths here, but I must say that at the time I was gutted with people saying Senna would have certainly won if it if he had been there.
I think he was getting into a state of mind anyway where he was nearing the end of his career. Just think about how strong he reacted to the Ratzenberger incident. He had got a shock from Rubens accident as well.
Certainly at the time I had a strong feeling it would have been Schu’s season anyway, even with Senna in that Williams. Schumacher was getting him cracked up by not just beating him in the races, but beating his qualifying times as well and all that in a car that was at least a bit inferior. This showed he was no longer the uncontested top dog in F1.
So for me, no Senna would not have won the 1994 WDC, but maybe he would have stayed on for 1995 and nailed it with a determined fight back.
