Cheers PM… the only major change it would need is crossing the Tyne Bridge instead of one of the others. We need more figure of 8 circuits in F1, that’s for sure!
Are you Novocastrian? Maybe you could plot it out better than I could. If it has to go over the Tyne Bridge, then this is the best I can do:
If you want a circuit around the other Newcastle – our Newcastle – then there’s a few suggestions:
While we’re on the subject of British towns that will never how a race, here’s a few more:
Liverpool – http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4232037
Manchester – http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4232041
Briston – http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4232045
Birmingham – http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4232047
Sheffield – http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4232049
Plymouth – http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4232051
I reckon London would be good, check it out:
Pretty fast track for a street
Well Novocastrian is a bit archaic, people from Newcastle are Geordies. I’m from the other side of the river, actually, but I spent a lot of my time in Newcastle. I’ll have a go myself sometime
Actually, revised edition – hows this? :P
More in Paris:
Too short for F1, but it goes past my house!!! GT1 next year… :P
It has a hairpin like monaco’s which turns and falls away down a hill. Plenty gradient change and I can expand it to F1 spec lenght once the new roads are put on the map! :D
So, let’s make it a bit longer, Calum:
I stayed in La Defense when i went to Paris in 2002, nice work PM.
And I visited La Defense when I was in Paris last September. It was probably my favourite part of the city, believe it or not. Made a nice change from all the tourists and traffic and salesmen…
PS, with all the people putting tracks that go past their houses this thread is bound to attract a few stalkers. If anyone sees any people lurking in their garden in the next few days, you’ll know why!
I’ll see your St. Petersburg, and and raise you this:
It’s funny because I know what the streets are like in my home town, and part of P.Monkeys’ track goes down a dirt track – it’s safe to say we’re never getting F1 in Blairgowrie!! :(
Anybody know the configuration of the Valencia street track? It would be interesting to see as although it’s easy enough to find a good route around a city, getting it in the right place for the pits and paddock is really hard!
