Well, some of the topics on the old forum have been revived, but my favorite is still missing, so I decided to start it today. It was one of teh best and funnest of all the topics of the old forum, what are the rules? Just go on
gmap-pedometer.com and make a simple street circuit! We had some really creaetive and cool ones.
Anyway, heres mine, http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4042008
Thats in Paris, simple, not very realistic, but it looks pretty good to me.

Because if you can’t have a Grand Prix track with the start finish straight on your Road? THEN WHAT CAN YOU DO? And incredible elevation change by the way with wide roads.
Right Heath Prix, the incredible Hamstead heath now features a low downforce spritn track, with a hair pin and several clear overtaking spots.

I’ll come up with some decent ones when I have time.
15th September 2010, 20:47 at 8:47 pm #144486IcthyesParticipantI’ve always tried to do a few London ones but the streets are so limiting you get a lot of annoying stop/start bits that would ruin it.
So here’s the best I can do. And of course, it goes down my road, but it would be to narrow to have the start on it! http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4042898
Imagine F1 cars having to around a roundabout!

I actually have a combined version floating around somewhere that looks awesome.

here’s mine, right in the heart of chicago, probably too tight on the southern end, probably no room for spectators. But it would be an amazing setting
16th September 2010, 6:33 at 6:33 am #144490MaccaParticipantThis would be my track if F1 ever came to my home town. The start/finish line on the banks of the Mighty Murry River.
16th September 2010, 7:58 at 7:58 am #144491graigchqParticipantok.. here’s my attempt. A very long track, and my attempt to re-create the Spa Francorchamps circuit within the fine city of Bristol. Massive elevation changes, and even a run across Brunel’s Clifton Suspension Bridge.
Start finish straight is a 1:5 hill on Park Street, and the track runs clockwise. A blast down alongside the canal/river before heading into Ashton Court Estate and then back over the suspension bridge, through the centre of Clifton (where over the years casinos and the like will be constructed to serve the rich and famous who will all want to get in on the action) and finally coming back down park street to the finish line and pit complex, which will also be part of Bristol’s harbourside devlopment.
F1 rocks would easily be able to put on shows in Queen’s square, and the harbour amphitheatre, confirmed acts incluide Massive Attack, with special appearance from Damon Albarn. Rumours have it that Eddie Jordan’s band is playing as well!!
16th September 2010, 9:19 at 9:19 am #144492IcthyesParticipantI really like that Chicago one, and having been there I think you could get quite a few grandstands if you placed them properly.
An updated London one to be a little more realistic (accommodating road width, having to dig up the million railings and traffic islands, etc.): http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4043824
PM’s Russian ones look very workable.

Thanks. They look even better when they’re spliced together:

16th September 2010, 14:53 at 2:53 pm #144496MaccaParticipantI come up with this track to showcase the beauty of Melbourne.
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4044345
Starting on Flinders St and racing in a anti-clockwise direction, the drivers will roar past the Flinders St Station on there way to turn one which will take them through the tunnle of the Crown Casino palladium. After that they head back up Sturt St past the Melbourne Art Center before a set of scenic turns through the Royal Botanic Gardens passing the Sidney Myer Music Bowl and the Shrine of Remeberence before turning back towards the Yarra River and following a series of high speed sweeping bends along its banks. The cars then head across the Swan St Bridge and into a tight switch back chicane before speeding throught the sporting precinct and past Rod Laver Arena and AAMI Park. Then its a 180 degree, double apex and back along Brunton Ave past the iconic MCG, with just a couple of 45 degree turns and a 90 degree turn left to bring you back onto the start/finish straight.
