F1 Fanatic - Formula E
Does Alguersuari have anything to with Formula E?
Some time ago I saw something on Autosport about him being linked to it, so I wondered if he really did get into Formula E?
Presumably he didn’t.
@jojobudgie – Yeah, Jaime is on the list.
I have to say, I am very much looking forward to this! It’ll be something a bit different and new, and in the list of drivers there are quite a few I’d support/have supported!
The FIA World Motor Sport Council has approved the teams’ entry list:
Andretti Autosport Formula E Team (USA)
Audi Sport ABT Formula E Team (DEU)
China Racing Formula E Team (CHN)
Dragon Racing Formula E Team (USA)
Drayson Racing Formula E Team (GBR)
E.dams Formula E Team (FRA)
Mahindra Racing Formula E Team (IND)
Super Aguri Formula E Team (JAP)
Venturi Grand Prix Formula E Team (MCO)
Virgin Racing Formula E Team (GBR)
Really good to see a variety of nations home to their teams, can’t wait for the start of a new brand in motorsport in Formula E
Somewhat just as important as the drivers, the TV team has been announced, including Robert Llewellyn (aka Kryten from Red Dwarf) presenter of Scrapheap Challenge and more recently a real advocate of all things that tie electricity and motoring together. Jack Nicholls, best known as the commentator for the Blancpain GT series alongside John Watson, Dario Franchitti, who doesn’t really need any introduction, and Nicki Shields, who I know nothing about, but apparently she’s a TV presenter and into sciency things, so that’s good.
So Alguersuari and Bird will be racing for Virgin Racing
@force-maikel – Fantastic news! I think I’ve found the team I’m going to support! :D
@bradley13 Definitely a contender for me (always liked Alguersuari and was impressed by Bird in GP2 last year) but I’m going to wait and see who the other teams are going to choose before settling on Virgin Racing :-)
I have to say, the more I see on this the more excited I get. Definitely planning a trip to London for the final round, providing the FIA don’t go and ridiculously limit access and make tickets as expensive as they usually are.
I honestly thought that Virgin would go for Lucas Di Grassi given their F1 tie up and his role developing the FE car.
@geemac, that was well over four years ago. Di Grassi is now a driver in WEC with none other than Audi, whom have a long standing partnership with Abt Motorsport in DTM and now FE as it seems they’re entered under the name ‘Audi Sport Abt’.
Ah yes, of course. So it’ll be Abt and Di Grassi for them then.
