Magnussen isn’t likely to score points from there, but he’ll keep the championship lead if Vandoorne doesn’t finish in the top two. Da Costa has had a very bad start to the season so far, 25 points from 3 races.
And quite unusual that first four races will have had wet qualifying and no pit stops!
Few minutes until the start and it’s pouring with rain. Stockinger has apparently crashed on his outlap. The race will start behind the safety car.
Really quite awkward to watch both FR3.5 and WTCC at the same time…
I especially liked how they managed the start both races simultaneously!
RACE 2 RESULTS:
1. Carlos Huertas
2. Sergey Sirotkin
3. Stoffel Vandoorne
4. Will Stevens
5. Nico Mueller
6. Nigel Melker
7. Antonio Felix da Costa
8. Andre Negrao
9. Kevin Magnussen
10. Marco Sorensen
Huertas wins race 2… well, that’s unexpected! Also, good races from Melker and Magnussen
What happened to Nato?
My stream thought it would be a good idea to cut out at key points in the race (for example, just before the safety car came in, and – for the second day in a row – on the final lap before the winner had crossed the line). It also managed to miss a couple of laps near the beginning of the race, in which Nato went from 1st to 25th, and no replays were forthcoming… did he spin off?
It was way too wet, but there were no major accidents, well done to all the drivers.
Nato did a disaster at the start, it was a shame. But I have to say I was impressed with the drivers. The conditions were terrible, I was surprised they let them race, but we didn’t see any major accidents.
@tom-l Yeah, Nato spun off at the very first corner after the SC came in. He also joined the track when there were other cars passing.
Wow, Sirotkin and Stevens joint-topscorers of the event, both finishing P2 and P4!!
