Magnussen now leads the championship by 46 points over Vandoorne (Da Costa mathematically has no chance to become champion anymore). This mean Magnussen only has to win the race tomorrow to become champion!

Vandoorne has been given a reprimand… thankfully.

Stoffel would need one heck of a race tomorrow (and at Catalunya) to win the title now, though.

Good to see Da Costa putting in some good results, but Melkers seems to beddropping back a little.

Speaking of da Costa, according to his Twitter, DAMS protested him as well, but didn’t mention why. Just that he found it poor taste..

Big news: Magnussen has been excluded from race 1! Apparently it has something to do with the DRS:

Da Costa has been handed the race win, Vandoorne claimed second place. In the championship, this mean Magnussen still leads, but he’s just 18 points ahead of Vandoorne. The championship will not be decided tomorrow either.

This means Magnussen now ‘only’ leads with 18 points over Vandoorne blowing the championship wide open. It still means that Vandoorne would need a big haul of luck to fill up that gap but at least it gives him a fighting chance.

    GO STOFFEL!

Wow that’s huge for Magnussen. What a break for Da Costa as well.

Wow, didn’t see that coming! Magnussen is still the favourite for the championship in my opinion

Pretty odd to hear DAMS was out protesting Da Costa and Vandoorne, since it was their car and not Magnussen’s driving that got him disqualified. Gutted for Kevin, but Stoffel must feel pumped for tomorrow’s race and I like a dramatic ending for next race too.

Well, counting the disqualification for Magnussen, Da Costa is copying his late run of wins and podiums from last year. Maybe with every other season of racing he’s been in, it’s always a late surge of wins ect.

DAMS says that the DRS paint cost Magnussen the win!

This stinks…. I wonder if DAMS is the only team to use painted DRS wings?

DAMS are protesting, since people at Renault Sport gave the wing the ok.

A decision is expected this morning, but nothing so far.

Magnussen takes pole, da Costa 4th and Vandoorne 7th.
