Not to dilute the achievement, but looking on the F3 Cup website…
“The pair will run to F3 Cup rules on tyres, ride height and fuel, although they will compete in an invitation class as the championship caters for cars built from 1980-2007.”
That last bit suggests they are running newer cars than the rest of the field.
If that’s right, it says more about Kevin Korjus (only making 3rd) than it does De Costa!

Can’t wait to see De Costa in F1.

Now you’re just jumping to conclusions without knowing the conditions or what?

@Eurobrun Good point, thanks for that.

Anyway, he won the ten-lap race by 54 seconds from Korjus:

Do you think they’ll let him compete at Macau after that?!

Great stuff. Always good to see drivers taking part in other series, like Nasr at Daytona, various members of the Brundle family in the World Endurance Championship, and Jaime Alguersuari who did Formula Renault races back-to-back with F1.

Da Costa went and won the 2nd race too, but interestingly Korjus chose not to race.
Seems to defeat the point slightly, although suppose wet race experience may be irrelevant for Macau.
