Tram, tram & tram ! There is limited parking at Albert Park & many of the roads are closed due to the event so traffic is chaos anyway. If you are a grandstand ticket holder, your tram ride from the CBD is free (although trust me, they never check anyway, so even if you are a GA ticket holder you might as well just jump on). Trams take between 5-15 minutes to get from the CBD to the track, depending on what gate you want. They put on heaps of extra services so you won’t have to wait too long.

Certain trams are free for all ticket holders. I come into Flinders and hop on the tram right outside heading down St Kilda road and go in a Gate 8.

Yep train it to either Flinders or Southern Cross and tram from either to Albert Park. No one will check for a ticket for the trams due to the sheer amount of people using trams.

If you are lucky to get accommodation in St Kilda, its a nice walk to the track.
