On the subject of bikes, does anybody know if you can get them into the circuit like at Silverstone?

going to spa this year stopping in malmedy how long does it take to walk to track from there? anyone know? and what time is best to get to track on race day with ga sliverstone last year we got there a 5:30

Steve, I didnt see any bikes within the circuit last year but plenty of bikes chained to the fence just inside the entrance, so you can certainly ride to the track if not round it. James Cole, I too am on yellow camping, there is no where to charge anything up! It is pretty much just a field, with only 1 building that is a shower block for the local football team. Campsite is open thursday, I will be arriving thursday too. If you are stuck for charging then I will be taking my generator so you are more than welcome to borrow some electric! Look for a small caravan with lots of stickers on the back and a sizeable flagpole!

Any help/advice would really be appreciated :Planning to go for the first time this year. Have already booked Eurostar to Brussels and hotel in Brussels. I am not very mobile and can only walk short distances. Can anyone who has used the ‘mobility option’ with their ticket and taken a coach from Brussels to Spa tell me how far it is to walk to the circuit from the drop-off point. Would access to a General Admission area be far from the drop-off point? Any ideas on best alternative ticket that wouldn’t involve too much walking.
    Thanks.

Hello everyone! So I’ve almost decided to go to Spa, my favourite race! If I go it will be my first time going to an F1 race. The only reason I’m not 100% decided is because I would be going alone and I haven’t sorted out all the details yet. I searched for camping and found this site and some very helpful comments here on the forum! I’m just wondering because I’m flying from Sweden I won’t have a car and don’t know if the yellow area/green area camping is more convenient than the Elephant campsite mentioned here, does anyone have advice on this?
I’m thinking of buying a bronze GA ticket and attend from thursday onwards (can’t miss any action!) am I right in thinking that the yellow/green camping isn’t open on thursday evening?

Johanna, yellow camping is certainly open on thursday, so would imagine green is too. From the yellow camping is a nice walk through francorchamps, only takes around 10 mins to walk to the circuit and is lots of stalls/shops to nosey in on the way.

I went to Spa GP last year and as Tim said in an earlier comment, stayed at a campsite in Francorchamps – entrance opposite the Francorchamps Racing Hotel. (I think it was Campsite 35, but might be allocated a different number this year). We turned up on spec on Thursday and got onto the site no problems. It’s about 5/10 mins walk to the circuit (La Source entrance), near to the bars, shop and steak house with fairly good sized pitches, parking next to your tent, and an excellent purpose built toilet/shower block – you do have to pay for showers but that’s pretty standard, and I don’t mind paying for decent facilities.

Be warned that it does get quite noisy though, plenty of loud music and fireworks into the night, but the party atmosphere is great. Have fun!

    Johanna, ska också dit! ;-)
This will be my first F1 race also, and I will be staying in Liege and going by train/bus to the track, all three days. I am wondering if anyone else have experience with this, as it seems that most of you will be staying on campsites around the track? And do you have any tip on when to try to arrive at the track? Pretty early, I suppose?

Craig & DuncF1: Thanks for the info, I thought the yellow camp was just outside the circuit, seems like it isn’t. Party atmosphere dosn’t sound that compelling though. Maybe the Elephant camping is more calm?

    Haha, vad roligt!

I have just booked tickets for this year. 1st time at Spa got tickets in Gold 9 are these good tickets. On the Friday & Saturday can you sit anywhere or just your seat and are you free to walk around the track to watch practice and qualifying also any advice for the weekend in general would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

    Im hoping for some help.
I have 2x Adult Weekend General Admission Tickets and 1x Child Weekend General Admission Ticket. The 2 adult tickets cost aprox £220. I bought them from Spa-Tickets.

Due to an epic fail of my kitchen extension roof, im having to raise funds for a new roof, meaning i can no longer afford to attend :(

Therefore the above tickets are being offered for sale. Looking for around £150 for them but I am willing to consider any reasonable offer for them. I dont yet have them in hand, but i will forward my email confirmation of them to the buyer and i will contact the agency to change the delivery details of the tickets.

Please emaill on bizzybee45@hotmail.com if interested.

    Thanks

    Hello.
This year will be my first time at Spa. Booked tickets 6 months ago :)) at Gold 4, close to famous Eau Rouge.
My question for you is regarding the car parks. I’ve got parking from Spa GP website 16E/day, but only for Saturday and Sunday. There are any other car parks near where I can park my car for Friday practice?
Thanks in advance. Looking forward to SPA GP 2012!

Thanks for the info Craig, I may well take you up on that offer if I can find you among all the people there. I’m already pretty nervous about going and camping on my own, and praying that it’s one of those rare Spa weekends where it doesn’t rain too hard or too often!

Steve – you can cycle to the entrance gates but no bikes in the circuit

Juan Pablo – you can walk around and view from anywhere i would recomend a chair or something to sit on but friends had grandstand seats last year and they could only use there specific seat they were not allowed in other grandstands like you can at other circuits

James Cole, I too am camping alone, but simplt is not a problem. The campsite has lots of brits on it and they are usually a friendly bunch! When are you planning on arriving? I will be there around thursday dinner time. Do not follow the instructions that come with your camping pass, it just leads you to a closed road, several of us made that mistake last year! Find how to put map co-ordinates into your sat nav and enter N50.459828 E5.952694, that will take you straight to the gate!

    Cheers

    Craig
