    I wish everyone who is going already a good stay in Budapest. We will fly in on Firday morning.

    Tip: every evening in the summer there was an open-air party with live music and bars near the bridge “Petófi hid”.

    @taipan
    You mean at the Zöldpardon (ZP)? There shouldnt be any parties there, as district 11 banished them to place a national flag there (wierd o.O). Now you can find them a bridge ‘lower’ to the south, at bridge Rákóczi.
    The program for the race weekend: Thursday – Zagar, Friday – Kistehén, Saturday – We are Rockstars, Sunday – LB27
    All productions are live concerts, tickets can be bought there, usually 400 HUF before 22 pm, 200 HUF after.

    Planning on taking the train to the circuit. Seems that Szilasliget is the best stop to get off at.

    Some websites mention a Hungaroring stop though. Does anyone know more about that? For example, does it even exist?

    @freethebees – I’m guessing the Szilasilget stop is is “Hungaroring” stop. It’s only two and a half kilometres from the circuit. The next-closest is Mogyoród, which is also two and a half kilometres away, but it’s a little bit further by road. I can’t see any stations called “Hungaroring” on Google Maps.

    @bag0,

    Thanks! That’s what I mentioned indeed. These parties used to continue until late/early in the morning. We did visit some pubs/bars in the evening. Which do you propose for a good evening spent?

    If anyone is looking for a ticket… I have a spare Gold 4 ticket for the weekend.. was meant for a family member who can’t attend.. let me know!! :)

    @taipan, From the concerts? Definetly LB27, but only if you like reggae, just search all of them on youtube to make up your mind. If you meant, a pub/bar, it really depends on, what kind of music, age-group, drinks you prefer. There are plenty of pleasure-grounds in Budapest. One serious thing to note is, since Januray smoking is banned at every indoor community place, also outdoors at transport stations.

    @Jane Thanks for the imfo. I didn’t know, there is a circuit radio, hopefully it will be in English. The fanview is not of much use to me, because I want to take a lot of photos, and my camera is two handed at least:), so ear buds are just ideal.

    First time to hungary grand prix so would appreciate some guidance from hardended fans:

    A) Airport to Circuit options ?

    Train to Budapest, then Budapest to Circuit – then long walk ?
    Taxi from Airport to Circuit – can this be shared, does it have to be pre-booked, are there many fans at airport mid-thursday ?

    b) Circuit – Budapest – evenings ? Is free Bus best ?

    c) Whats fastest route (not helicopter) from circuit to airport after race finish?

    thanks in advance

    Also going to Budapest. Annoyed a bit about the weather after being soaked at Silverstone this year!

    Staying in central Budapest from tomorrow and we’re also interested in a taxi share. Might try the train on Thursday and see how we get on.

    Is there any limitations to what you can take on site, if in general admittence ? Rucksacks ? Suitcase ?

    Does the local train station have left luggage ?

    regards

    There are luggage lockers at the three main rail stations. I also have to get to the airport quite quickly after the race. To help this I am going to take my case to the airport luggage storage on Saturday night, then whatever way I get there my case is already there.

    I arrived last night and took an airport shuttle minibus into Budapest, 4800huf for 2people which I thought wasn’t too bad.
