Anyone knows where the F1 Parties are in Malaysia? Singapore had many and I was fortunate enough to go to the Amber Lounge both nights last year…but I’m sure Malaysia has their after hours / after race parties too…

    hi,

i decided to go to the race this year. i was previously attended 2 singapore gp, but as the currency is now very high, i prefer the cheaper malaysian gp.

i need help from you guys about recommendation for seats. what i was looking for was the easier access to circuit as i plan to run to the podium area once the race ended. based on what i saw on the website, i have the options of garnet, jade, or crystal. as they located at the lower grandstand and directly in front of the pit building.

    need your insight and recommendation.

    thanks

I see from Google maps that the airport and the circuit are really close, however I don’t want to walk by the side of what I assume is a highway :P Probably a stupid question, but is it public transportation from the airport to the circuit?

Just ordered my tickets now, and it looks like I’ll make the qualifying after all. Ordered tickets in the K1 stand, section B, looks like a good view of T1 and pit exit :)

@garns Fair enough buddy i personally havent had a bad experience there in the 5 times ive been as for braziil wouldnt go back
@Sveen there are usually buses from the airport to the track, usual route for most spectators is to catch the airport express from the city and jump on the buses which are normally free i always go in k1 its a fantastic spot, but if you are staying in the city negotiate with a taxi driver a price for the w/end and he will pick you up and wait for you all day and take you back into the city, usually around 50 uk pounds is what ive paid

@garns Mate, you”ve got some issues. From paranoia about pick pocketing “bandits” to blanket statements about people that “hate” westerners. Really? haha. By the way, the boy at the pool who had the “right” to tell his mom off. Bollocks. That is bad parenting, that is not a culture or religion. Did you realize that Malaysia is over 60% Muslim?? Do you think they “hated” you? Keep doing some more traveling and hopefully your eyes will become a bit wider. I believe that you encountered some rude idiots in your hotel, but do you know how many rude idiot Aussies I have encountered in 20 years of travel?? Do you think I hate Aussies? No, because I know that those I have encountered don’t represent AN ENTIRE GROUP OF PEOPLES. Anyways, I love you mate. Why? Because you are my fellow man, speak your mind, and a F1 fan!

    Hi,

Just looking into tickets now. Does anyone know how you specify which block of the grand stand you want to be in? I’m thinking Grand Stand K, and as near as I can get to block A. I’ve started trying to book the seats on a few different sites, but none of them seem to give me an option of which block I want to sit it, though I haven’t followed any of the booking though to the actual payment.

    Thanks,

Hello Fanatics. I’m currently travelling around asia for a year and overly excited about visiting the Malaysian GP this year.

What I cannot work out however, is that if I buy a ticket online from the http://sepangcircuit.com.my outlet, whether they issue an E-Ticket, or if they will want to post a physical ticket to my home/registered address.

Clearly posting home isn’t an option as im away until after the GP, but with the Indian GP last year, I was issued an ETicket which I had to exchange in Delhi for a physical ticket.

Does anyone know if Sepang offers a similar functionality or, if they offer an Eticket – will this printed ticket grant me access to the race itself.

Have emailed the above address, and used the contact us link on the site above (three times now – and missed the early birds) with no response!

Can any seasoned Sepang-er’s help me out?

    Many thanks

@sampson I did a quick check just now (by actually choosing seats), and they offer the following choices:

    International Delivery (MYR80.00 per order)
    Local Delivery (MYR25.00 per order)
    Print at Home Tickets
Box-Office Collection (Credit Card required for ID)

Thanks for your quick and helpful reply @Journeyer
Pretty embarrassed I wasn’t able to work that one out. See you all at Sepang!

    Thanks @Alex Green

The other thing I was wondering was how easy/cheap it is to get the the circuit by public transit? I went to the circuit to check it out and watch a GT practice in September 2010. I managed to get there pretty easily and cheaply, by getting a train to the airport and then a taxi to the track. However when we called a taxi to take us back to the airport the taxi tried to charge a ridiculous fee so we decided to walk out to the highway and hitch hike our way to the airport. Does anyone know if they have a better set up for the race weekend? I presume they must, otherwise getting there and back would be significantly more than some of the tickets.

    Thanks,
