There is lots going on in Nice and Monaco over the GP weekend. Lots of different parties, lots of restaurants and bars obviously. Many parties come and go and quite frankly aren’t worth the money.

Lots of the yachts, including ours, host yacht parties over the weekend with canapes, drinks, music etc. and we try to keep our prices as reasonable as possible but it being Monaco nothing comes cheap to put on in the first place.

Rascasse is great for Friday night but the atmosphere seems to be very very different on Sunday night, for want of a better description the atmosphere on Friday is fun and exciting whereas Sunday seems to be more aggressive for some reason. Not sure shy but it’s been like that the last few times we and our guests have been.

There are lots of other paying parties like Amber Lounge, Jimmy’z etc. but you are looking at 650 – 800 euro per person depending on the night for an individual pass with all drinks but no food…not to everyone’s taste or budget although you are pretty much guaranteed to see some F1 drivers.

In Nice there are lots of tourist trap restaurants and lots of good, reasonable ones. If you PM me I will send you our suggested restaurants list that we send to our guests as a starting point.

Our yachts are usually berthed next to our near the ‘Kimi Raikonnen’ yacht so I know it well although I don’t know if there are many people who book on it individually I know that we have several guests who book into our terraces and yachts as solo travellers. Don’t be worried about booking hospitality as an individual, I can only speak for our facilities and locations but they are all incredibly friendly and our guests all mingle and make friends.

If I can be of further help or you would like to consider alternative yachts, or if you would like some photographs showing the view from the yachts, just let me know.

No restrictions as such on camera equipment although if you are spotted by a policeman or security officer taking photographs of the palace they are likely to ask you to stop – that’s the only restriction I’m aware of.

Sector Rocher is the cheapest ticket type in Monaco but it is a hillside overlooking the track, not for everyone!!

Grandstands are the next cheapest and K1, K2 (high) in my opinion are the best but T (high) is also ok as it lets you see into the pits – not as extensive a view as K though. B in Casino square is ok also if you like seeing the various different line the drivers take on the same corner…personally I think K has more to offer if you were to pick just one stand, or you could go for a different grandstand each day to get a variety of views.

Then you have non-catered balconies which are a little more expensive than grandstands (better than grandstands with cover from the elements, better views, open bar etc, and you can bring your own food – this keeps the cost down as there are no chefs/catering/etc).

Of course there are also full hospitality balconies, yachts, etc. etc. but as you might expect these are all more expensive than grandstand tickets so might be outwith your budget.

You can get some parties, on yachts or at other locations, at the last minute but to be honest they tend to fall into the ‘you get what you pay for’ category. We offer yacht parties with open bar, canapes, music, dancing, hostess service etc. but there are also lots of bars and restaurants in Monaco.

You can also get hospitality at the last minute from street touts but you have to be really careful, I’ve now lost count of the number of times I’ve heard some of them try to oversell a location or a view or similar to unsuspecting guests.

It all really boils down to where best to spend your budget, for sure I would recommend staying outside of Monaco to save on your accommodation leaving you more to spend on your tickets, partying etc.

I have heard of Red Eye Events yes, don’t know much about them but have not heard anything bad. I think they were one of the companies (but I’m not 100%) that had some trouble with the positioning of their yachts this year. Some folks/companies had their yachts moved at the last minute to unsuitable positions because one of the members of the Royal Family (so I’m told) wanted berths for their friends vessels.

I’ve been looking for tickets for the 2013 GP and the ACM site gives the option of buying a two day ticket or a one day for the same price. Am I reading that right, in as much that if I buy tickets for Saturday and Sunday in the same spot the final checkout will give me the tickets at half price?

I think you are misreading the cost. You have to select your ticket for each day separately and the price is per ticket per day. The only ticket you get for free is if you book a 3 day in which case your Thursday ticket is free. We have already booked ours and we definitely didn’t get reduced ticket prices.

Monaco is brilliant, a must for any F1 fan. It’s one of the best races for atmosphere and there’s lots going on before and after the race. If anyone wants some assistance or advice on the best places to eat, sleep and watch in Monaco I can assist. We have been going to Monaco for over 10 years and have access to some brilliant penthouses with stunning views from the balcony with one of them being voted the best view of Monaco!

I’m looking into getting tickets through ACM. From previous posts I see that people say that K1 and K2 higher are the best seats. Unfortunately they are all booked now. There are seats available in the lower sections of K1 and K2. I’m wondering should I go with these lower seats or should I get higher seats in K3,4,5 or 6 etc? It’s a birthday present so want to go for the best that I can get. Any info would be great!

Personally I would take a higher seat in k3 for example over a lower in k1/2 but if you have a look at the photographs from each stand on the acm website you’ll get an idea of the view from each position. You could also do different seats or stands on different days.

we are also going over next year. hubby’s big birthday present but he doesn’t know yet!! any help anyone can give me would be gracefully appreciated!! flights booked, accommodation been booked from 2011!!!! just to buy the tickets now, hubby loves the roar of the cars coming out the tunnel there, so want the stand closest to the exit.

Hi, I have booked flights, hotel and raceday tickets. Im hoping to watch thursday practice from a restaurant and while browsing last year Im sure i came across packages in the region of €80-€120ish euros at Cafe de Paris, since we will be celebrating a birthday on the thurs I thought it would be a good way of doing something slightly different without breaking the bank! Never been to this GP before so not sure how things work with making reservations, I assumed this would need to be done really far in advance – do any of you regular visitors to Monaco have any advice??
